DOHA: Pakistan became the Asian champions defeating their arch rivals India 5-4 in a tough contested final of the Asian Champions Trophy hockey here on Thursday.
Pakistan made the first breakthrough against the defending champions when Waqas Sharif, scored goal but India came back just two minutes to equal the score and succeeded in taking a 2-1 lead by the end of the first half.
However, the second half proved much eventful as both teams made goals one by one and overall six goals were scored during this half.
For Pakistan, Waqas Shraif scored two goals while Mohammad Rashid, Shafqat Rasool and Mohammad Imran netted one goal each in the sensational final.
