On Monday in Lahore, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi while holding a press conference along with Advisor Waqar Younis said that five teams will be formed for Champions Cup which will have ODI, T20 and First-Class formats.
He said that our domestic system is not bad but still it needs to be improved.
He gave details regarding the domestic champions and said that for this the selectors will select the players on merit and five teams will be included in it.
According to him, 'Waqar Younis is looking after the setup of five teams and the aim of this initiative is that we have around 150 players at all times.'
He said that foreign players will also play in the Champions Cup.
He said that the aim of the initiative is to strengthen domestic cricket in every way and to promote and bring forward the talent.
Mohsin Naqvi also said that the remuneration of the players has been increased while the match fee has also been increased.
In the question-and-answer session, when Mohsin Naqvi was asked with reference to the Interior Ministry that he has two posts, and it is also said that his knowledge about cricket is less.
In response, Mohsin Naqvi said, "How much I know about cricket, only time will tell, I don't care what anyone says."
On this occasion, PCB Advisor Waqar Younis said that he liked the idea of Champions Trophy, and its purpose is to fix the method of the game.
