ISLAMABAD: The core committee of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Tuesday decided not to call in Army, however Rangers would carry out surgical operation in the country’s financial hub to control law and order situation, sources said.
PPP’s core committee met here with the President Asif Ali Zardari in chair to discuss law and order situation in Karachi, internal affairs of the party among various other issues.
Sources said that the meeting also decided to extend relationship with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and to continue reconciliation policy.
Amin Fahim, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Rehman Malik, Nazer Muhammad Gondal among various others party leaders attended the meeting.
Overall situation prevailing in the country was also discussed in the meeting, sources added.
