ASWJ declares strike against bid on leader life
KARACHI: The Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) has given a strike call today in Karachi against life attempt on its leader Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqui, Geo News reported.
The religious party said a day of mourning would be observed across Sindh while a 'peaceful' strike in Karachi.

Dollar hits new 20-month high, tops 85 yen
TOKYO: The dollar rose past 85.00 yen in early Asian trade on Wednesday on expectations that the Bank of Japan (BoJ) would take more monetary easing steps under pressure from the incoming government.
The greenback was at 85.10 yen shortly after 0000 GMT, the first time above 85.00 yen since April 2011 and up from 84.78 yen in Tokyo afternoon trade on Tuesday.
The Japanese currency has been declining as incoming prime minister Shinzo Abe, whose Liberal Democratic Party won a landslide national election last week, steps up pressure on the central bank to take bold easing steps.

Dead passenger found riding in Berlin underground
BERLIN: A 65-year-old man thought to be sleeping while sitting upright on a Berlin underground train as it cross-crossed the German capital was actually dead, police said on Sunday.
"It's tragic," a Berlin police spokeswoman said. "We don't know how long he was sitting dead on the train nor do we know the exact cause of death yet. There are no indications of foul play. He seems to have died of natural causes."
